At the base of its products, Econnectix has designed an association database technology called XPress. This database technology was designed for rapid storage and retrieval in networked contexts of relatively small data associated with identifiers, although no restrictions or limitations exist of any kind concerning the size or kind of data supported. For network-oriented applications, XPress can provide 2 to 3 orders of magnitude greater performance than alternative technologies. In addition to dramatic cost reduction, this performance advantage facilitates the construction of new kinds of applications heretofore impossible to build.
XPress provides high performance essential database operations for key-value relationships, native clustering for native processing and storage scalability, per-record replication for reliability, and integrated networking appropriate for authentic geographic distribution of data sets.
This design permits conventional "vertical scaling" through hardware and/or middleware upgrades, or "horizontal scaling" through concatenating lower-end machines. In either case, XPress improves performance, requires fewer machines, and lowers computation costs.
